What We Offer Schedule: Full-time (40 hours), candidate can select either a 10A-6:30P schedule or 11A-7P schedule , Monday-Friday. Five 8 hour shifts. 1 night call per week required, along with minimal weekend/holiday call coverage. This will be discussed further during interview. Department: Preop/PACU for the OBGYN unit. Location: Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC Unit Info: Assisting with preop, phase I and phase II recovery. 5 preop bays, 6 phase I and 6 phase II bays. The procedures are focused on Women's Health Operations. 4 OR's total. Some of the procedures consist of DNC's, operative labs, hysterectomy's, post-partum tubals, pelvic work etc. This is a wonderful close knit team. Requirements: Either pre/post, ICU, or ED experience is required. What You'll Do Conduct comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments, including medical history, allergies, medications, and baseline vital signs. Initiate and maintain intravenous access and administer pre-operative medications as ordered & manage post-operative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other recovery-related symptoms. Prepare patients for surgery by providing education regarding procedures, anesthesia, recovery expectations, and post-operative care. Monitor airway patency, respiratory status, oxygenation, circulation, neurological status, and pain levels during recovery. Perform ongoing post-anesthesia assessments and recognize complications requiring intervention. What We're Looking For Education : 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
