Overview About the Role The Staff Nurse (Cancer Center) is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care tailored to the unique needs of each individual and their family, in alignment with professional nursing standards. This role involves applying specialized knowledge in chemotherapy and/or radiation oncology to assess, screen, educate, and manage care for adult patients receiving treatment through Outpatient Oncology Services. The nurse also supports clinical operations and office functions, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork by rotating across various Oncology Service Departments as needed. Additionally, the nurse actively contributes to evidence-based practice, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare professionals required. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time hospital experience preferred. Prior oncology nursing experience preferred. Required certifications (must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment): Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Provider Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate. IV/Venous Access Device Certification. National Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred. Must be available to work predetermined flexible hours.
