Key Responsibilities: Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology-specific infusions. Administering treatments to Pediatric patients as well as adults Provide patient education and emotional support tailored to each stage of the treatment process. Monitor and manage patient symptoms and infusion reactions, collaborating with the broader oncology care team. Maintain accurate patient records and participate in treatment planning. Qualifications: Current Montana RN license or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. BSN degree preferred. 2 years of applicable infusion experience required. RQI Provider (BLS) required within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever occurs first. Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and principles of professional nursing practice to administer and evaluate patient care. Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s). Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines. Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office; simple routine clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions. Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, established protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammable items; restriction imposed by various manage care carriers, various forms inherent to profession. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submits to the nursing department to comply with established timelines for billing optimization. Completes all documentation legibly and applies approved abbreviations and documentation error correction practices per Option Care’s policy. Coordinates discharge planning and prepares discharge summaries with patient instructions and thoroughly reports patient care needs, progress and goals when transferring care.
