Care of high acuity critically ill patients includes high complexity interventions serving patients of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Oncology, and Surgical services. The presence of a multitude of services provides broad experiences for the nurse. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, attending physicians, fellows, advanced practice nurses, physician assistance, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy and psycho-social support. Professional nursing growth and development are expected, encouraged and supported by the Nursing Resident Program (NRP) for new graduate nurses, the Career Ladder Program, Mock CODEs that are provided, a multitude of educational opportunities to sit and learn with attending physicians and educational preparation for the Critical Care Registered Nurse certification (CCRN), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) program, and Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Certification (BMTNC). Position Responsibilities: • Assumes overall managerial responsibilities for assigned clinical areas within the practice. • Responsible for nursing staff development and in-service programs. • Maintains current clinical skills, including but not limited to telephone and in person Triage, patient assessments, administering medications, patient education, performing diagnostic tests including EKG, pulmonary function tests, lab certifications, staff scheduling/coverage for scheduled office hours of operation. • Issues and maintains inventory and supplies. • Supervises the coordination & update of health education resources. • Supervises outpatient lab services. • Coordinates Physician Nursing Home and Home Visits Patients. • Quality Improvement Audits/Projects as assigned. Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required: 5 years RN experience required. 2 years recent practice office and management experience. Experience in resident education is preferred. Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or Bachelor’s in related field preferred but not required. Training/Certifications/Licensure: Current NJ RN License. Current CPR certification. Annual Salary: $89,574 - $139,253 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
