Responsibilities Works with the wound care physicians to provide a comprehensive treatment program for patients, addresses patient issues, and works through all patient/employee-related matters. Educates referring providers to purpose, function, and realistic expectations of the Clinic. Educates nursing personnel on wound care techniques and skills. Coordinates and revises present wound and/or HBO services by planning, developing, and implementing new service programming compatible hospital goals. Develops appropriate protocols and objectives for programs exhibiting knowledge of the programs by communicating needed information and/or referring requests for information to appropriate sources. Provides leadership in the development of performance standards for employees. Evaluates and counsels’ employees on their performance. Plans and develops educational in-services for the department. The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position requirements are demonstrated through the successful completion of competencies established for the position, to include population served, and other special needs of patients or customers served by the department.
