How you make a difference The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit. Key Responsibilities Supervising the total health care delivery system in their assigned unit, ensuring compliance with policy and procedure, and coordinating patient care with other departments. Monitoring nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed. Assisting with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements. Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies. Maintaining a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. Staff Nurse, Perioperative Services - Medical Special Procedures (MSP)

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position for Medical Special Procedures is to be responsible for the care of pediatric and adult patients undergoing endoscopic and other gastro-intestinal related procedures during the pre-procedural, procedural and post-procedural phases. The nurse delivers care through the use of the nursing process as reflected in SGNA’s Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Role Delineation Statements in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care. Staff Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging

Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) Staff Nurse is to safely move patients requiring PCU or ICU level of care within the University Hospital and Rutgers campus. The CCTT RN prioritizes transport requests based on acuity and workload logistics. The CCTT RN will utilize the Acuity Checklist for Critical Care Transport form to determine who will accompany the patient during transport and what equipment will be needed. The CCTT RN will require a thorough and complete SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation) report, in person, from the primary care PCU/ICU RN managing the patient. The CCTT RN will complete their tasks with compassionate consideration of the patient’s requests and those of their family. The CCTT RN will utilize the Inter Transport Patient Data Form to chart the appropriate data as it applies to the individual patient’s circumstances. The CCTT Nurse takes immediate action in emergency situations and responds to patient needs during transport. Upon arrival, the CCTT RN will give a complete and thorough SBAR report to the receiving RN and will assist in the safe transfer of care. All transfers will be conducted with emphasis on preventing skin breakdown and the secure positioning of lines, tubes, and drains. The Registered Nurse provides leadership for ancillary personnel by being a team leader, serving as a preceptor, and being an active member of the health care team. The nurse practices within the ENA and the ANA Scope of Practice, the ENA and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and the standards of his/ or her specialty. Responsibilities Patient Care* Completes chart audits ensuring accuracy and documents changes. * Completes nursing assessment for new patients (prepares charts, enters patient history in the EMR, and verifies medications). * Updates patient care records. * Implements corrective actions based on the recognition of changes in patient's condition. * Knowledge of IV and/or oral chemotherapy medications that may be prescribed. * Interprets basic laboratory and diagnostic data and communicates results to physician for follow-up/intervention. * Demonstrates accuracy of documentation of assessments, interventions and patient responses. * Utilizes the pain scale in assessing patient's pain and documents interventions and progress. * Functions as a part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and concerns. * Documents patients on concurrent treatment and communicates to the appropriate staff. * Coordinates Brachy Therapy procedures with physicians offices and OR scheduling. * Is responsible for patient teaching for pre-op and post-op follow up instructions. * Maintains open interactions with various internals department, outside agencies, patients and their families. Event Participation and Coordination* Participates in Cancer Center sponsored community health screenings and events. Compliance/Safety* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility. * If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame. * Remains current on radiation oncology and medical oncology practices. Qualifications Education RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016: Must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position. Existing Staff RNs: RNs hired before 7/1/2016 are not mandated to have a BSN, but are encouraged to pursue a BSN degree. Certification & Licensures Active, unrestricted, Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license- Required BLS- Required upon hire ACLS- Required upon hire ** Other certifications may be required in specialty departments Employee will obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for the roles assigned by their departmental leader.
