The Women’s Care Unit is a 20‐bed unit that provides gynecologic, antepartum, and medical-surgical overflow for adolescent, adult, and geriatric women. This all‐private room unit cares for the post‐surgical patient following vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, bladder repairs, laparoscopic procedures, plastics, mastectomies/breast reconstruction, and women with medical‐surgical complications. The Women’s Care Unit also specializes in providing care to high‐risk antepartum patients, who sometimes spend weeks or months as an inpatient until the time of delivery. The all-female staff provides compassionate care to patients who have experienced a fetal loss or are placing a baby for adoption.
