Summary GENERAL SUMMARY Works under continuous supervision and clinical guidance of the practice physician(s). Responsibilities include hospital rounds, performing procedures for inpatients and office patients, and care of trauma patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Engages in the practices constituting the practice of medicine in collaboration with and under the medical direction and supervision of a licensed physician. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice and our patients/families throughout the inpatient hospital stay, with effective utilization of healthcare resources. Provides office visits under supervision and within scope of practice. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current State license as an APRN or PA with specialization in Family or Pediatrics. CPR, PALS and ATLS training required and/or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. Three to five years of pediatric experience preferred. Execution of Non Competition, Confidentiality and Non Solicitation Agreement required for specialty assigned / hired into. WORKING CONDITIONS Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Job Requirements Education and Work Experience: Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required Relevant acute care experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Essential Functions Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room. Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure. Anticipates surgeon's needs of additional supplies. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed. Prepares sterile dressings. Secures dressings after incision closure. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure. Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedure. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Helps drape sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other members of team with cleaning of room for turnover. Assists in prepping room for the next patient.
