Description of role: This is a Registered Nurse Clinical Manager position in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The Clinical Manager will have 30-40 direct reports. They will be expected to initiate unit based and house wide projects focused on improving patient outcomes in the CICU. Clinical Manager must be self-directed and want to grow, while investing in the success of others. Role requires 2 months of orientation with the CICU Clinical Director and CICU team. Qualifications: BSN required, MSN preferred. Critical Care background preferred. No prior manager experience required. Schedule: Shift- Evening/Nights, x 4, 10-hour shifts (2-3 Nights from 3:30pm to 1:30am or until work is done; and 1-2 days for flexible office hours) **Must work every 5th weekend on call to provide 24/7 patient coverage per CICU team. Serve as a resource to staff in the resolution of complex issues and concerns. Provide oversight and guidance in the day to day patient staffing. Evaluate and adjust resource allocation based on patient needs and system factors. Establish and maintain procedures for orientation of new employees. Assure integration of annual operational goals into daily practice. Address problem trends, develop, plan and implement solutions to improve processes and work flow for both individuals and systems for which teams work. Provide oversight and evaluation of clinical practices, patient outcomes and all practices associated with safety and quality patient care. The Clinical Manager will be competent to support patient care delivery for their area as needed. Project Management - Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of specific projects. Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. May direct assigned project team ensuring effective utilization of resources. Reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders. Provides detailed organizational communication plans when clinical operations are impacted. Integrate principles of inclusion throughout projects and daily operations. Financial Management - Engage with the day to operations that impact productivity. Conduct analysis, partner with others in decisions around resource allocation and recognize the impact of decisions on productivity. In collaboration with director; develop, implement and evaluate the department's annual operating and capital budget to achieve the organizational and departmental objectives. Analyze and monitor financial performance and assist in the reporting of financial results. Evaluate variances, determine underlying causes, and establish proposed solutions. Provides clinical practice leadership for the operation of specified patient services departments dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. Practice Manager III

Overview Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Practice Manager III to be part of our Clinical Team in Hendersonville, NC. What You'll Do: The Practice Manager III oversees day-to-day operations of assigned clinic/practice locations to ensure the highest degree of efficiency and quality in patient care and patient flow. The Practice Manager III supervises large clinic sites with multiple service lines and/or one service line that has greater than 10 provider clinical FTE. Will also include resident training programs and supervision of additional support staff, i.e. schedulers, medical records, radiology, lab, etc. Responsibilities include: Completes administrative duties and clerical functions in order to streamline and support the day-to-day operations of the clinic/practice. Provides administrative direction and coordination of current and long range policies, procedures and programs of the practice and/or service line(s). Establish schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space and equipment to ensure effective patient care and provide conformance with quality performance standards for efficient clinical service in the practice. Works with clinic/practice provider teams to resolve patient flow problems as they occur. Reviews all patient and customer complaints and works with patients to resolve complaints and clinic issues, as they occur. Involves others in complaint resolution, as needed. Responsible for human resources management of clinic support and clinical staff at clinic/practice site (may include clinical support staff, team leads, site coordinators, patient navigators, schedulers, medical records, patient access representatives). Directs and coordinates various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules for both clinic provider staff and support staff. Coordinates the orientation, competency, and ongoing training of all new employees at clinic/practice site. Assures quality customer service standards are upheld in the practice for all services. Responsible for oversight of financial management at clinic/practice site. Works in conjunction with the Director of Practice Operations to determine practice and service line fiscal requirements and approve budgetary recommendations for the clinic/practice. Monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds on a monthly basis. Assists the Director of Practice Operations with planning the annual operating, capital, and training budgets for the clinic/practice. Directs the compilation of and/or prepare monthly operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Oversees ordering of all supplies along with assuring the proper maintenance of present office equipment. Reviews medical supply utilization and institutes cost-savings plans. What We're Looking For: One to two years’ previous supervisory experience, required. Must qualify as a Practice Manager II before being considered as a Practice Manager III. Experience working in an outpatient medical practice in a supervisory capacity, preferred. Education: BA in Business or Health Care Administration or related field, preferred. Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements. Clinical Licensure as an RN or LPN, licensed in the state of NC, preferred. Excellent knowledge of various computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Bilingual preferred. Active CPR preferred. Must possess a thoroughly professional and positive image at all times, including effective verbal and written communication skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, employees and the public. Skills in planning, organizing, delegating, supervising, and to make recommendations for improved operational systems. Must be capable of providing day to day supervision to staff employees, using good management, judgment, and communication skills. Must be able to prioritize workload and demonstrate basic decision making and problem solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality requiring extreme sensitivity and disclosures that require discretion. Ability to communicate any real or potential problems to appropriate risk management staff.
