Ensure proper care, handling, and sterilization of instruments and equipment before, during, and after surgery. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under the direction of the surgical team. Monitor and maintain a sterile field, taking immediate corrective action when breaks in aseptic technique occur. Dispose of sharps and other biohazard materials according to safety and infection control protocols. Support inventory control by restocking supplies and reporting shortages or equipment malfunctions. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and continuing education to support departmental goals.
