Update skin sheets every 7 days. Assist with new admissions and re-admissions when directed. Consult with Nursing team concerning assessment evaluations and assist in planning and developing the skin care treatment to be performed. Initiate requests for consultation or referral. Assess the residents and their records on admission and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in order to recognize when to refer the resident to a physician for evaluation, supervision or directions. May act as a Unit Nurse when directed. Provide supervision to C.N.A's and all subordinate staff which includes checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed. Asure Wound Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Specialist for Wound Care Supplies to join our team. This is a remote position based in the Dallas area and requires experience working in nursing homes or long-term care facilities as well as a strong background in wound care. The ideal candidate must be comfortable driving distances up to 2 hours away. While an interdisciplinary care team provides medical care to patients in long-term care facilities, you will have the opportunity to impact in a positive way the life and wellbeing of the elderly population. We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities. WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with WV Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition. and/or the care plan. Collaborate with the primary care physician. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of West Virginia. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
