Position Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will practice as an independent clinician while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team. This role is responsible for the direct care and clinical management of pediatric patients at our St. Paul and Minneapolis Emergency Department locations. APPs in the pediatric emergency department practice to the full scope of their licensure within a team-based model that includes both independent patient visits and shared visits alongside an attending physician. Key Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric patients presenting with a wide range of acute and traumatic conditions Obtain histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement treatment plans Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions appropriate to the patient population Collaborate with attending physicians, pediatric specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality care Schedule Requirements We are open to a range of 0.8 to 1.0 FTE, depending on candidate interest and program needs. Rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays The Children's Emergency departments, located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, are staffed 24 hours-a-day by board-eligible or board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and by nurses with specialized education in pediatric emergency medicine. Each facility is designed to support short-stay needs, coordinate pediatric and neonatal care transport, assault and abuse services, access to pediatric specialists, and emergency telephone consultation and referral. EDUCATION/ LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / EXPERIENCE: APRN Requirements: Current MN RN/APRN License. Nationally Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice preferred Physician Assistant Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
