Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration. Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals. Cross trained to perform duties that are relevant to specialty or clinic practice within the scope of the Medical Assistant. Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation. Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked. Recognize urgent medical needs and triage care appropriately. Provides patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns. Maintain patient areas and supplies: Disinfects exam rooms between patients and all patient areas at end of the day. Assist with clinic upkeep, including daily cleaning and supply ordering/inventory. Take messages for patients using electronic medical records. Greet and check in patients. Address patient requests and inquires. Resolve patient concerns.
