Experience performing point of care testing, CLIA waived testing, wound care, dressing changes, specimen collection, and phlebotomy. Experience assisting with various procedures and tests, such as pulmonary function tests. Experience with Epic In-Basket management For ENT, Ortho, and Surgery Clinics: Experience assisting with external fixator removal, flex sigmoidoscopy, hemorrhoid banding, collars, cast removal, incision & drainage, cystoscopy set up and clean up, thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy, reductions, and splint placement. Physical Requirements May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice only and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed health care provider. Provides appropriate clinical and non-clinical information to facilitate visit process. Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment. Maintains supplies, equipment and instruments. Supports and performs clerical functions as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Required Licenses and/or Certifications CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant, higher level clinical certification (LPN, RN, or higher) or military medical experience preferred. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience Graduate of an approved accredited allied health program or clinical program required. Preferred Education and Experience One to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
