Roles and Responsibilities: Perform clinical duties in accordance with the scope of practice in accordance with NYS laws and regulations. Carry out all assigned clinical procedures for the comfort and well-being of patients, per practice protocol. Take and record the patient's vital signs. Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment and supplies per protocols. Assist physicians/providers with regard to clinical questions, prescription refills, test results, and other patient calls per practice protocols. Prepare patient's record for visit, as directed by physician/provider. Required Skills and Experience: High school education or equivalent experience Clinical competency in aseptic techniques, sterilization, practice management systems, EMR, and scheduling protocols. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with basic keyboard proficiency Physical Requirements: Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard). Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require. Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Description The Medical Assistant Relations Associate is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing patient procedures as ordered by the physician under the guidance of licensed medical staff (LPN, RN, NP or MD). In addition, provides clerical support necessary for efficient and effective functioning of the office. Responsibilities 1. Performs EKGs as ordered by the physician 2. Performs lab testing as ordered by the physician 3. Performs PFT as ordered by the physician 4. Admits patient to the exam room and takes vital signs, medical history, medication history and allergy history. Height and weight as indicated 5. Performs quality controls 6. Ensures that the patient referrals are completed and forwarded appropriately 7. Documents appropriately any treatment 8. Documents any telephone contact with the patient 9. Documents in the lab accession log and outside medical testing log as per established procedure 10. Adheres to universal precautions and OSHA Regulations 11. Maintains examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion 12. Registers and transacts patients promptly and accurately using current computer system 13.
