Catalogs and communicates patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel. Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; assists physician with exams; explains treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patient. Observes patients and reports any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel. Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions. Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens; performs basic waived lab tests. Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Responsibilities: Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff Interviewing patients Obtaining vital signs Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records Facilitating patient referrals Preparing forms for patients Requirements: Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Current BLS certification Why MultiCare? The scheduled hours are as needed to cover the health center Monday - Friday 7:00a - 3:30p OR 8:30a - 5:00p.
