Job Title: X-Ray Technician/MA Reports to: Center Manager Summary The X-Ray Technician/MA will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment. Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials. Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications Current limited X-Ray permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (expanded scope is ideal- to include digital radiography, chest, extremities, and torso-skeletal) is required CPT I certification Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections. Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet Neat and professional appearance Effective written and verbal communication skills Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant Working Conditions Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Travel – up to 5%

For Cardiology offices only: 6 months experience working in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent required or Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology/science or related major or successful completion of a cardiac technician course. Prior experience as a medical assistant preferred Licenses and Certifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA or equivalent within 1 Year required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists or equivalent within 1 Year required CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Clinical competency as verified within 90-day orientation period and annually thereafter. Excellent customer service/patient interaction skills.
