Applies warm and cold compresses, consistent with facility procedure; performs irrigations, consistent with Facility procedure; performs other procedures related to skin care, as necessary; administers medications correctly and safely; correctly identifies medication in terms of action, dosage, side effects, and implications for the patient; meets standard on medication administration examination; demonstrates preparation of local solutions. Administers and documents medication correctly; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; participates in patient and family education; provides patient with an explanation of his/her condition as indicated; communicates assessment data in an orderly fashion by recording, updating and verbalizing pertinent information to care team members and to appropriate agencies; recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources /materials available for this teaching; provides for early discharge planning and appropriate referrals for post-hospital care; evaluates the effectiveness of teaching by feedback from patient/ family and documents same. CCRN certification preferred. Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM The Department of Emergency Medicine of the MetroHealth System, a principal teaching hospital of the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, is seeking Advance Practice Registered Nurse to join our growing team at our Life Flight team. Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. Metro Life Flight: Responsible for advanced emergency and critical care patient management during air and ground transport of the critically ill or injured patient from the scene or outlying sites to participating secondary and tertiary care institutions.
