Summary This is a Full-time, 36-hour Evening shift (11PM-11AM) position. Unit Bio Mid Coast Hospital's Emergency Department has 26 beds and is staffed 24/7 by highly qualified nurses and physicians. The Emergency Department provides initial treatment to patients of all ages with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries. Team members provide rapid assessment and management of critical illnesses, as well as prompt care of minor illnesses and injuries. The Registered Nurse role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required). Qualifications Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses. Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
