The hired APRN will care for critically ill patients, pre and post operatively, with congenital heart disease. They will often manage patients on vasoactive support, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and ECMO or Ventricular Assist Devices. Patient population varies from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease that require repeat intervention. The hours for this position will include three thirteen hours shifts including rotating days/nights/weekends and holidays. Call will also be required. Previous APP experience is preferred, however new graduates with ICU experience are welcome to apply. Job Responsibilities: Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures. Education/Qualifications: Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work or licensed as an LPN if the state you operate in allows. Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a hospital, nursing facility or other related healthcare facility, preferably in long term care. Must possess basic computer skills and ability to navigate through various software programs, including electronic health record software.
