Job Summary OR Nurse Flow Manager 36 hr Rotating As manager of the Operating Room Schedule, the Operating Room Flow Manager has direct responsibility for maximizing the efficiency of patient flow, controlling the transfer of patients for surgery. As part of the management team, time will be spent directing and monitoring patient flow in the extremely complex, high patient volume Operating Room setting with 46 operating rooms, 27,000 cases and over $50,000,000 in revenues per year). Decisions made regarding patient flow and Operating Room utilization have a direct impact on the expenditure of resources and maximization of revenues. This position is the key controller, facilitator, and integrator of the effectiveness and efficiency with which the daily dynamic schedule functions. The OR Flow Manager works in collaboration with the anesthesia floor leader, nursing management, surgeons, and co-leaders in determining, through critical judgment and decision-making, that optimum utilization is attained and maintained. The OR Flow Manager will develop and promote a team philosophy and interdisciplinary collaboration among staff to foster a continuum of care for the perioperative patient. Qualifications Principles Duties and Responsibilities: • Directs the efficient flow and movement of perioperative patients from pre-op, ED, or inpatient unit, to the operating room, and then to PACU or inpatient unit • Establishes effective communications with nursing management, clinical support, anesthesia floor leader, surgeon, and hospital administration to ensure efficient utilization of the Operating Room. • Ensures that optimum utilization is maintained with minimum use of overtime and additional staff. As a member of the program’s founding clinical team, the NP will participate in both direct patient care and the development of clinical workflows, patient selection criteria, protocols, and systems necessary to establish and grow the PainFree Service. The ideal candidate is an experienced NP who enjoys both clinical practice and program development. This individual will be comfortable working in a new and evolving environment, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, and collaborating across disciplines to create a procedural experience that is safe, efficient, and responsive to the individual needs of children and families. Key Responsibilities Perform pre-procedure assessments to determine patient readiness, individualized care needs, and the appropriate level and location of procedural support. As a Registered Nurse, your main role will be to deliver nursing care to our residents within a warm, comfortable, and home-like environment. Observes and reports any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, RCAs, and Executive Director per state regulations. Directs and supervises the daily work assignments of the Resident Care Assistants Closely mentors, guides, and directs the Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their job. Coordinates care needs with community providers via an effective case management process Effectively balances service demands with supporting resident independence. Recognizes and assists in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation (financial and other) and reports to appropriate sources per state regulations. Responds to emergencies and personal emergency response system and knows when to call for backup. Requirements Current state license as an RN and CPR certification Graduate of an approved RN program (per state requirements) Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred. Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable. Job Summary: Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our skilled nursing team. As an LPN at our facility, you will provide direct nursing care, supervise nursing support staff, and help ensure high-quality, resident-centered care in accordance with facility policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing personnel on assigned units. • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, colostomy changes, tube feedings, suctioning, IV administration, and other skilled nursing interventions as assigned. • Observe, document, and report changes in residents' conditions to physicians, families, and nursing leadership. • Accurately transcribe and carry out physician orders. • Participate in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers. • Conduct regular rounds to ensure resident needs are being met and staff are following facility policies and procedures. • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate transportation needs for residents. • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support comprehensive resident care. • Maintain adequate supplies of medications, equipment, and other necessary resources and notify appropriate personnel when additional resources are needed. • Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication among staff. • Participate in regulatory surveys, inspections, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. • Treat all residents with dignity and respect while protecting resident rights and maintaining confidentiality. • Follow infection control policies, safety procedures, and life safety and emergency protocols. • Report abuse, neglect, exposure incidents, or noncompliance in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations. • Complete all required training and skills competency requirements. Qualifications: • Current, unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license. • Strong communication and critical-thinking skills. • Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and professionalism. • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team. • Prior long-term care experience preferred but not required. • Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality resident care.
