Pay Range: $19.32 - $24.13 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Prepares exam rooms for patient encounters and assists LIP as requested. Directs patients to examination rooms; assists in preparing patients for examination; assists patients in undressing, dressing and getting on and off of the examination table. Notifies provider of patient's arrival and readiness for their examination. Assists providers with patient examinations. Reviews charts prior to patients' scheduled appointment to assure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed and that reports have been returned and are accessible to the provider. Records medical history, current medications, treatments, and problem list accurately. Obtains and records patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure and reason for visit. Assists with patient equipment downloads, utilizing a variety of medical device software programs and printing appropriate reports for LIP review accurately and in a timely manner. Assists with medication reconciliation process, reviewing and accurately documenting patient medications. Accurately and efficiently performs all clerical duties as needed, including but not limited to patient registration, billing, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and initiating, maintaining and filing medical records. Assists with equipment cleaning, disinfection, and pasteurization, documenting appropriately according to standardized protocols. Disseminates and communicates accurate patient information appropriate to the patient's disorder. Accurately inputs data in the registration, electronic medical record, database and scheduling systems according to established procedures. Assists patients to complete essential paperwork and questionnaires. Assures exam rooms are cleaned after each patient and appropriately stocked with necessary supplies, equipment and forms. Practices proper infection control techniques. Cross-trained to perform Patient Reception Rep job duties as needed. Performs other selected clinical and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management within any CH office location under the direction of a provider and manager in accordance with the objectives and policies of Capital Health (CH) and respective state laws governing such action and activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Incumbents working in Primary Care or Specialty Care offices may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two years of work experience as a medical assistant, EMT or other direct patient care related role. Will consider a current nursing student with completion of two clinical semesters from an accredited nursing program. Other Credentials: AHA BLS. Job Description Nemours is seeking a full-time (60hrs every 2 wks) Nursing Assistant for our 4 East Unit, with every third weekend, holiday rotation package and flex holiday (as needed) in Wilmington, DE. This position is responsible for assisting with general activities of the patient care unit and assist the health care team with performance of patient care activities, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse. 4 East is a 24-bed general, specialty and subspecialty medical unit with a high population of patients requiring respiratory or gastrointestinal management. Each single patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardio respiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the healthcare team to access a patient’s electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child. This unit’s goals are to provide high-quality, cost-effective, family-centered care. Family-centered care rounds are performed daily to assure an inter-professional approach and partnership with the patient and family. Essential Functions Ensures an adequate stock of all necessary equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels. Ensures a clean and safe patient care unit. Assists patients with activities of daily life (bath, feed, play, etc.) and provides other patient care as directed. Assures all supplies are accurately charged. Contacts pharmacy, dietary, and other departments as designated by the Registered Nurse. Collects patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, other per policy), paying close attention to patient safety, comfort and accuracy of information. The goal of this unit is to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The Synergy model is used in making appropriate patient assignments based on patient and family needs and nursing skill set. Special equipment used on this unit includes infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, BiPap respirators, Oxygen delivery methods, PCA & epidural pumps, wound vacutainers, ventilators and specialty beds. Job Description The PICU is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This is a 36hrs/wk, rotating shift position. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Nemours Children's Health, Delaware is a 24-bed unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Patients requiring care and surveillance in the PICU will have conditions and diagnoses which may include, but are not limited to, those producing: acute and reversible loss of consciousness, respiratory failure, compromised air exchange, cardiovascular dysfunction, hepatic failure, hemodynamic instability, renal dysfunction, central nervous system injury or dysfunction, acute trauma and organ failure requiring transplantation. Treatments or interventions performed in the PICU include measures utilizing advanced life support technology. These include, but are not limited to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, tracheal intubation, ECMO, pharmacologic support of circulation, mechanical ventilation, point of care monitoring, CRRT, thoracentesis, and hemodynamic, intracranial pressure, intravascular monitoring. Each patient room has electrocardiographic, pulse oximetry, respiratory, hemodynamic and intracranial pressure monitoring capability, as well as central EKG and respiratory monitoring. Portable monitoring during patient transport is provided. Special equipment includes radiant warmer beds, heating/cooling blanket systems, Mapleson manual ventilation system, end tidal CO2 monitors, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intracranial pressure monitoring system, ventriculostomy systems, infusion pumps, blood warmer, continuous renal replacement systems, and peripheral nerve stimulators. Requirements Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Experienced pediatric intensive care nurse of at least 2 years preferred.
