Job Summary: The Transfer Center Nurse Specialist will function out of the Throughput Operations Center providing critical and timely assessments and successfully guiding referring facilities to the appropriate physician. In an effort to provide complete customer satisfaction, the nurse should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests made by transferring physicians, hospitals and peers. The Transfer Center Nurse Specialist should give high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. The nurse must be able to adjust through a rapidly changing environment. The nurse will manage multiple phones lines and responsibilities including transfer center logistics for patients being transferred into both hospitals. This role will play a significant part in ensuring adequate acceptance of patients into our health system, and compliance with EMTALA regulations.
