Coordinates self-scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage for unit needs. Maintains Kronos records on a daily basis, monitoring for trends that require intervention i.e.., late clock-ins, incremental overtime, missed punches. Assumes delegated responsibility for inventory control of equipment and supplies to ensure safe and effective patient care. Facilitates timely return of rented or borrowed specialty equipment. Solicits staff input regarding equipment and supply needs for the unit. Maintains understanding of equipment and instrumentation needs and ensures appropriate inventory levels are available for safe and effective patient care. Assists and/or leads staff meetings, special projects and the development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement activities. Communicates data and solicits input from staff regarding performance and quality improvement i.e. patient safety, infection control. Actively participates on hospital work groups. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility’s established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules and regulations. Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care. Verify the identification of a resident before administering nursing care or serving food, to assure that appropriate care is being provided to the correct resident. Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately. Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables. Assure that water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within the resident’s reach.
