Purpose of Position: Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patient. Description Dresses, grooms, bathes, feeds, takes and records vital signs of patients. Completes all ADL functions and documentation of such. Answers call lights, assists in toileting, oral care, nail care, catheter care, assists patients in wheel chairs, transports, turns bedridden patients, reports patient changes, and takes out trash. Requires certification as a Nurse Assistant; functions may not exceed Standards of Practice as accorded by certification. Provides simple or uncomplicated patient care while caring for medically complex patients/residents requiring specialized treatment and services. Bathes and dresses bed patients, combs hair, and otherwise attends to their comfort and personal appearance. Cleans room and changes bed linen. Takes and records temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides or sterilizers. Prepares food trays, feeds patients, and records food and liquid intake and output. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident’s rights. Monitor, Observe, and report changes in patients medical status to Licensed RN Provide care for post-operative patient, orthopedic patient, Neuro-compromised patient, cardiopulmonary patient, etc. Maintains patient safety when caring for patients with oxygen therapy, IV Infusion Therapy, saline locks, traction, G-Tubes, NG Tubes, catheters, and CPM Machines. Purpose of Position: To provide direct nursing care to the residents, patients, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants. Description Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility. Must complete all administrative functions as outlined in the job description. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to the Business Office as required. Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Readies equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of patient. May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Compensation Pay Range: $73,000.00 - $104,400.00 Essential Functions 1. Ensures all EMS staff (hospital, outside ambulance contracts, and contracted fire departments) maintain certification and credentials. Schedules and coordinates all mandated training and education. 2. Responsible to oversee and ensure proper maintenance of the Workday ,EPIC systems and Healthstream for all EMS staff. 3. Monitors equipment needs and schedules routine and preventative maintenance 4. Assists in planning and evaluating Emergency Preparedness for the EMS system. 5. Participates in various special projects as requested, utilizing subject matter expertise to assist in project development. 6. Responsible for responding to requests for ALS intervention and for providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment according to Paramedic Protocols and Policies approved by SSHS and the ALS system Medical Director. 7. Make decisions in the areas of patient care, human resource and financial management. 8. Responsible for day to day EMS operations. 9. Conduct employee performance appraisals when due. Identify staff problems/strengths/weaknesses, and provide counseling, instruction, or coaching as necessary. 10. Represents the EMS division at State and regional EMS meetings 11. Minimum Education - Preferred Refer to Required Licenses/Registrations, Required Certifications, and Required Classes/Skills Minimum Work Experience Equivalent of 4 years of college. Must possess a valid driver's license. Minimum of 5 years full time experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting at the paramedic level.
