Job Description: ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), one of the nation’s largest ENT, Allergy, and Audiology practices, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Horsham and Philadelphia offices. Hourly: $20.24/hr Responsibilities Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Prepares patients for their appointment by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies. Educates patients by providing medication and instructions; answering questions. Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results. Keeps inventory of supplies. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Other duties as required Overview Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family.
