Job Overview The full-time nurse practitioner will provide mental health treatment to adults in the outpatient behavioral health clinic. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physicians. The NP provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment, and management to restore, maintain, and improve the health status of patients. Requirements A Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing RN license APN License PMHNP Certification CDS and DEA CPR certification ACLS and BLS Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center 2+ years of APP experience working in a psychiatric setting, managing mental illness and substance abuse disorders Shift M-F 8:30-4:30p Essential Functions Performs evaluation, treatment, and educational functions. Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients. Develops plan of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary team and completes appropriate reports to primary care physicians and family. Documents and maintains patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards. Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers. Interviews, instructs and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Issues psychotropic prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations. Orders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Reviews all lab data and documents. Performs and obtains a completed medical history and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings. Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliant for policies such as HIPPA, OSHA, Code of Conduct. Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice. Reviews and audits charts routinely. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a frontline clinical and operational leader responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager in the coordination, oversight, and evaluation of nursing services within the assigned clinical department. The ANM ensures safe, high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care through direct clinical leadership, staff supervision, and operational support. The ANM serves as a role model for professional practice, fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, and assists in maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. The ANM assumes responsibility for unit operations in the absence of the Nurse Manager and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, staffing efficiency, and quality metrics. Serves as a clinical resource for ICU, dialysis, and hospital-wide nursing teams, supporting clinical decision-making, escalation of care, and rapid response situations. Responds to rapid response events, code blues, and acute clinical deterioration across all critical care and inpatient areas, providing clinical leadership during emergencies and coordinating escalation, resources, and stabilization efforts. Monitors and supports quality and safety initiatives across Critical Care Services, including CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE, pressure injuries, restraint use, and other hospital-acquired condition prevention efforts. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS regulations, Joint Commission standards, and applicable critical care and dialysis guidelines, maintaining regulatory readiness across ICU and inpatient dialysis services. Participates in quality improvement activities, including audits, root cause analyses, corrective action plans, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
