Main Function: Under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, performs duties in the care and treatment of patients on maintenance dialysis. We are seeking a Registered Nurse who has at least 1 year of experience, caring for patients on dialysis four days a week. Candidate must be licensed in New York and have current BCLS certification. Position Summary To maintain and develop Hospice education and working relationships of the Hospice Program with professional/community contacts, the Hospice interdisciplinary team, physicians and their staff, and healthcare facilities. Maximizes opportunities for effective communication, problem solving, and utilization of Hospice Program services. Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Experience Minimum of one year of experience in hospice required. Three years of experience in community health preferred. Prior in-service education experience preferred. Skills Current State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Current and valid CPR certification. Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes and those who are dying. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system; with patients and family members; and with multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem solve. Current and valid driver’s license, registration, inspection sticker and appropriate level of insurance coverage required, to include collision.
