Key Responsibilities: Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual patients, as well as others in a position to understand service needs. Maintain patient confidentiality by monitoring the secure processing of confidential information. Ensure proper documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records. Oversee medical and administrative equipment by verifying the availability of emergency equipment, completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and coordinating repairs. Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving. Requirements: Current NYS RN Licensure (BSN preferred but not required). Minimum two years of experience in Long-Term Care or medical/surgical settings. Provides first aid to students in need of immediate care, with referral to registered nurse, private physician or outside emergency services as necessary. Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements. Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data of students via progress notes. Administers medications as prescribed. Supervises secured storage of medications. Refers all consults and diagnostic reports to registered nurse for review. Transports students to appointments as necessary. Maintains Nursing Office. Orders supplies and equipment as required. Visits students at home as requested by Director or designee. Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing Services field.
