Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The 8th floor is a 44 bed Renal/Telemetry unit with 24 sem8i-private rooms and 1 private room with an adjacent dialysis suite where dialysis treatments are performed under a contractual agreement. The dialysis suite can accommodate 6 patients at any given time. There are 2 negative air-flow rooms on the unit. Any semi-private room can be made private for isolation purposes or to accommodate patient request. Patients admitted to the 8th floor are acutely ill with medical problems whose primary reason for admission include but are not limited to Renal Failure, CHF, Pneumonia, COPD, Sepsis, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, MI, Angioplasty, S/P Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Direct Admits along with Post-op surgical patients. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Assist in cleaning up activity areas after completing activity functions. Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for resident.
