This position will primarily cover the NICUs at St Joseph's North (located in Lutz) and South Florida Baptist Hospital (located in Plant City) with the opportunity to rotate to the other hospitals covered by the practice. Overview We are seeking a certified, experienced, per diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established practice of 30 years at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH), home to the region’s only Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities The only hospital in Tallahassee to earn the Baby-Friendly Hospital designation, TMH leads the region by delivering more than 75 percent of babies born in the area. With 19 labor and delivery rooms, the facility is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to new babies and their families. With an ADC of 25 and 4,000 annual deliveries, this is the only area facility designated as a Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is equipped to handle high-risk moms and premature or critically ill babies. The hospital serves a 17 county region in North Florida and South Georgia, and receives transports from regional hospitals Affiliated with 3 residency programs. How you make a difference In their role, the Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. They work closely with the Medical Director to promote high standards of care and support the professional development of nursing staff to provide quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and manages budgets, policies, and procedures to align with facility goals and objectives. Organizes service delivery, manage resources, and collaborate with other departments, facilities, persons served, families, and visitors. Leads quality improvement activities, provides direct supervision, and serves as a resource and consultant to nursing staff. Monitors safety issues, evaluate service delivery and staff growth, and adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge of risk management, clinical precautions, infection control, fall prevention, utilization of special procedures, environmental checks, fire disaster procedures, and alternatives to use with regards to seclusion/restraint methods. Additional Details Corrections experience a plus Must have minimum 2 years leadership experience Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Experience 2 years of supervisory experience in an acute setting recommended Emergency Room, Communicable Disease, with Medical and Surgical experience preferred Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
