You have the opportunity to "float" to units giving you the chance to broaden your knowledge and experience. A new Registered Nurse in this unit will have an hourly base rate starting at $33.34. An experienced Registered Nurse can expect an hourly base rate in the top 25% of nurses in the region. RN positions are eligible for applicable shift differentials and Sunday/holiday premiums. With at least 16 hours per week, this position is benefit eligible. What is required for this position: Upon hire, you must have: Associate of Nursing (ASN) or equivalent required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations. · Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses. · Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor or Physician as needed. · Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family. · Directs and provides, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients. · Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness. · Initiates or assists with emergency response measures. · Serves as a resource for health care team, participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned. · Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections. · Identifies expected outcomes, documents and updates the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team. · Ensures patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options. · Required to complete CAP requirements to advance. · Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Perform routine charting duties as required & in accordance with established charting & documentation policies & procedures. Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician. Develop & maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as required. Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy and that nursing service personnel knock before entering the resident’s room. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. May be exposed to substandard and unsanitary living conditions. May be exposed to allergens of all types (i.e., pets, dust, smoke, etc.) May be exposed to communicable disease, blood and other bodily fluids. In adverse weather conditions may be requested to make home visits for medication directly observed therapy and directly observed preventative therapy (DOT/DOPT). Required to wear N-95 masks in situations where client is considered infectious.
