RMA - Position Summary: Administer oral and topical medications to residents. This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. RMA supervises care staff in absence of nurses. Maintains, cleans and organizes the Medication Room. Maintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for resident activities. Attends all required training, in-service and staff meetings May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
