JOB SUMMARY: The nurse will attend to quality patient care in the pre-procedural and post-procedural settings before interventional radiology and interventional cardiology procedures, as well as overseeing nursing care of the patient during non-invasive cardiac procedures including transesophageal echocardiograms and cardioversion. The nurse will assist with patient pre-assessment and scheduling, obtaining required pre-procedural documentation and diagnostic tests, and obtaining IV access. The nurse will also facilitate intraprocedural assessment and monitoring, administration of conscious sedation to the patient during non-invasive cardiac procedures, and monitoring and recovery of cardiac catheterization laboratory and interventional radiology patients post procedurally.
