Position Summary Provide wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) nursing in the prevention, health maintenance, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitative and palliative nursing care to persons with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. Directs efforts to improve quality of care to individuals of all ages directly through hands on care and indirectly as educators and consultation services. Education Current/valid state of NJ RN license (or legal permission to work from the NJ Board of Nursing). Completion of an accredited Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) full scope specialty education program with subsequent board certification in WOC from Wound, Ostomy, and Continence certification board (WOCNCB). Maintain recertification every (5) five years. Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certification and unit-based orientation. BLS Required from American Heart Association. Experience Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. Skills Physical and cognitive requirements: Positions physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as Very Heavy Work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
