Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) needed in Brooklyn Well-staffed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 3pm-11pm JOB DESCRIPTION: The Certified Nursing Assistant works directly under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and performs duties in a relation to the personal needs of the resident, care of supplies and equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness, comfort and safety of the resident in his/her environment. REPORTS TO: Charge Nurse, Supervisor and Director of Nursing Services (DNS) Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to write legibly. Physically able to perform the required duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant. Experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care or long-term care setting. RESPONSIBILITIES: Residents Provides or assists with bed bath, tub bath, whirlpool and showers. (Supervises safety of same.) Provides personal grooming: i.e. hair, nails, shaving, personal clothing, mouth care, perineal care. Prepares laundry for pick-up and return. Checks resident's body for skin care: i.e. rash, any discoloration or edema. Feeding and Assisting with Feeding (when necessary) Provides calm, pleasant environment. Answers call bells as soon as possible. Makes rounds frequently. Reports need for repair and safety matters to charge nurse. To Ascertain Vital Signs Follows procedure in taking TPR correctly. Adheres to the proper procedure for cleaning thermometers/IVAC. Rehabilitation Assists in ambulation, transfers, ROM exercises and good body alignment where indicated. Uses adaptive devices properly. Cooperates with all rehab disciplines. Keeps accountability sheets up to date with signatures as required. Testing of Urine and Collecting of Specimens Has knowledge of proper procedure. Records results. Informs nurse of results. Assignments Receives daily report from nurse. Consults assignment for special duties and sets proper priorities for following through on assignment. Is familiar with and takes proper action in meeting physical needs of resident. Routinely checks and keeps in order all residents' belongings: i.e. clothing, glasses, hearing aid, prosthesis aid, adaptive devices, etc. Ensures that residents on turning schedule is positioned every two hours or as ordered, and documented. Responsibilities We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA . Assess p atient status throughout the perioperative episode of care . Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care. Qualifications Graduate of an a ccredited s chool of n ursing . O ne year of OR and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred . Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings . Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 of employment or documentation of current BLS certification. Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification. Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing is preferred. USD $55.00/Hr. USD $58.00/Hr.
