About The Role As the Nurse Manager for Postpartum and the Level IIA Special Care Nursery, you will lead daily operations, support staff development, guide quality and safety work, and help create an exceptional experience for mothers, newborns, and families. You will partner closely with nursing leadership, labor and delivery, physicians, nurse midwives, nurse educators, lactation, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, case management, and other clinical teams. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys being present on the unit, solving problems in real time, coaching staff, and building strong relationships across the maternity service. What You Will Do Provide visible, accessible, and collaborative leadership for the Postpartum Unit and Level IIA Special Care Nursery. Promote safe, equitable, evidence based, and family centered care for mothers, newborns, and families. Create a positive and healthy work environment built on trust, respect, teamwork, accountability, psychological safety, and shared excellence . Champion shared governance and partner with the unit based council and frontline staff to improve clinical practice, workflows, policies, and unit priorities. Oversee daily operations including census, acuity, staffing, assignments, skill mix, patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers . Participate in recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning, and workforce development . Coach and develop staff through rounding, timely feedback, recognition, goal setting, annual reviews, and performance management when needed. Lead quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives using data, audits, event reviews, and staff feedback to identify opportunities and sustain improvement. Support best practices in postpartum recovery, couplet care, newborn stabilization and monitoring, infant feeding, bonding, family education, discharge readiness, and connection to community resources . Ensure coordinated and compassionate care for newborns requiring Special Care Nursery services , including family integration, transfer planning, and collaboration with higher level neonatal centers when needed. Advance culturally responsive and inclusive care for the diverse families and communities served by Emerson Health. What You Bring Education Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred. Experience Minimum of five years of progressive maternal newborn nursing experience required. Postpartum and Level II Special Care Nursery, Special Care Nursery, or comparable neonatal care experience required. Demonstrated Clinical Leadership Experience Required. Previous formal supervisory or nurse manager experience preferred. Licensure and certification Current Massachusetts registered nurse license required. Current BLS certification required. Current NRP certification required or must be obtained within three months of hire. National certification in maternal newborn nursing or neonatal nursing preferred. Skills And Strengths Strong clinical judgment and working knowledge of postpartum, newborn, and neonatal care . Approachable and visible leadership style. Advanced Practice Provider, Neonatology, St. Joseph's

Overview The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s is seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Neonatologists. We are looking for pediatric providers to join our neonatal hospitalist team at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. The team is open to an FNP with newborn experience or a primary care PNP for this role. The Birth Center of Nashua at St. Joseph Hospital provides labor and delivery services as well as Level I nursery care for around 600 families annually, and is designated as a Baby Friendly hospital. Their spacious unit allows personalized and state-of-the-art obstetric, post-partum, and well-baby care. The role includes hospital-based coverage 24/7 at St. Joseph Hospital. The pediatric APP will be responsible for the primary care of a caseload of well-babies, attend high-risk deliveries, serve as team leader in neonatal resuscitations and stabilization of sick infants awaiting transfer. Successful candidates will have experience with pediatrics, in either an inpatient or outpatient setting, and ideally will have experience attending high-risk deliveries and providing initial stabilization in the immediate postnatal period. Opportunities for training to expand skill set to stabilization of acutely ill infants for transport will be provided by the Dartmouth Health neonatal team. The position reports to the St. Joseph Hospital pediatric hospitalist APP Lead and the Section Chief of Neonatology. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program National specialty certification as an Acute Care ANP, Acute Care PNP or NNP, FNP or Primary Care PNP; or Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Required Licensure/Certifications Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRNs only) Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH Eligible for Federal DEA Registration BLS certification ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP as appropriate
