Job Description Nemours is seeking Registered Nurse for our 4 West Unit. Schedule consists of casual, 48 hours per the six week block minimum, one 12 hour weekend per block and two holidays per year. Join Nemours Pediatric Nursing! 4 West is a 24-four-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical surgical patients whose care is driven by protocols. The unit consists of single patient care rooms, which can also be isolation rooms. The goal of the unit is to provide very high-quality, high-value patient care within a 72-hour time frame. Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the health care team to access a patient’s electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child. Are you living your life's work? General Summary Statement Responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. These include, but are not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care. Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions attends the weekly schedule clinics and is dependable. Able to manage a number of patients at the same time with high energy and organization. Collaborates with all team members, wound care center Physicians, Program Director, and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs. As needed to provide Hyperbaric Medicine Coverage. Education Training and Experience RN BSN with 3 year minimum experience, Wound Care Certification preferred. Medical Surgical, home health, or Emergency Services, also preferred. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support), infections control, safety and all unit required skill review. Also, must be willing to attain training in Hyperbaric Medicine by an approved UHMS 40hour Course. Licensure/Certification Current PA RN license.
