Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center is currently seeking a skilled, compassionate, & dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to be the Director of Nursing (DON)! Our team consists of experienced, energetic, dedicated, and compassionate RNs, LPNs, and STNAs. As Director of Nursing (DON), you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the functions of the nursing department. You will assume the primary role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient nursing care. Supervises Unit Managers, Clinical Nurses, and Nurse Assistants. In the absence of the Executive Director, you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this facility. Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON) include: Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interactions with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors. Set and monitor the achievement of goals and objectives for the nursing department consistent with established philosophy and standards of practice. Recruit and hire a sufficient number of qualified nursing staff to deliver efficient resident care in accordance with the established staffing plan. Establish, implement, and continually update competency/skills checklists for nursing staff. Prepare and assure adherence to an annual operating budget for the nursing department. Maintain and guide the implementation of current policies and procedures, which reflect adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines. Assure compliance with resident rights policies and work to resolve resident grievances. Establish and monitor compliance with an effective medical record documentation system. Establish and maintain productive lines of communication with residents and families, internal staff, and external community. Prepare and submit reports on nursing department operations, as required. Actively participate in the facility's quality improvement process. Participate in and/or provide in-service education sessions. Attend and participate in department/facility meetings, as required. Schedule, direct, and document regular meetings with nursing staff to ensure effective communication. Demonstrate respect and compassion in every interaction. Conduct oneself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity in every interaction. Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interactions with co-workers, residents, families and visitors. Participate in facility program development activities. Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities. Assist surveyors and inspectors to facilitate regulatory compliance. Directs Nursing and Care Plan Team. May be trained and assigned to perform the Customer Care Liaison duties as needed. Requirements of the Director of Nursing (DON): Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio 2 Years of Nurse management experience Must be available to work varying hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
