Essential Duties : To provide exceptional care to all residents including but not limited to: Under the direction of the Unit Manager, manages the nurse desk and clinical staff on the unit Obtain report from nurse being relieved and records sufficient information to implement appropriate follow up action as necessary Provides report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary Conducts patient rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action Administers and documents medication, enteral nutrition and treatment per physician order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily Performs comprehensive assessments of each resident on unit Develops care plan based on each resident's assessment Obtains physician orders and any revisions for all treatment and medications needed Assesses on a weekly basis the skin condition, stage, size, site, depth, color, drainage and odor of condition May conduct staff meetings; coordinate services rendered by nursing personnel with those rendered by personnel of other departments. Observes infection control policies and procedures relating to nursing services. Directs and supervises activities of professional and non-professional nursing personnel Supports and participates in In-services Education Programs.
