What you'll do The Medical Assistant I is a healthcare professional who supports clinicians and other medical staff by performing clinical duties during the patient encounter. Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with medical procedures, collecting laboratory specimens, and conducting administrative tasks as assigned. The Medical Assistant I maintains a clean, safe clinical environment and ensures efficient unit operations while providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. Receives and greets every patient in person or via telephone a courteous and friendly manner using a welcoming positive tone, words and actions. Displays ownership of the entire patient experience, including but not limited to, rooming of patient, collection of vitals, complete and accurate phone messages, chart preparation, medication refills and the abstracting of external records Raises up emergent situations or expressed patient problems directly to RN, Supervising Nurse or Practitioner for assistance.
