Performs scrub duties according to surgical protocol. 5. Demonstrates ability to properly utilize all equipment for specific procedures or seeks appropriate resource. 6. Assumes responsibility for knowledge of surgical procedures and associated nursing care. Seeks appropriate resource when necessary. 7. Provides communication/visits peri-operatively to the patient’s family and or significant other. 8. Demonstrates self-direction above and beyond daily assignments and actively offers assistance to colleagues both within the main OR’s, cardiac OR’s and various other surgical services units. 9. Demonstrates ability to accurately and thoroughly complete peri-operative nursing record documentation, i.e. surgical site confirmation, patient identification verification. 10. Demonstrates collegially behavior of respect and consideration with regard to work environment, i.e. restocking rooms, returning equipment/supplies for other surgical procedures, cleaning work areas/station and or communicate as appropriate. Assists with provider schedules and staff schedules . Coordinate and/or provide appropriate coverage for vacation requests and sick calls . 8. Acts as Electronic Medical Record “Super User”, attending regular EMR training sessions, distributing new information or workflows to providers and staff and training of new staff members on EMR . 9. Participates in the interviewing, hiring and performance evaluation of staff, providing on-going useful, objective and constructive input.
