The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during surgical procedures as well as preparing the operating room, handling surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team. The OR RN will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and adhere to the highest standards and practice of patient safety, infection control and professional ethics As An OR Nurse, a Typical Day Might Include Scrubbing in and circulating in a variety of OR specialty areas such as Robotics, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Transplant, Neurology, Thoracic, Trauma, Cardiac, Vascular, ENT/Head and Neck, GYN, Urology and Bariatrics. Participation in complex surgeries using the latest technology in our state-of-the-art surgical suites. Serving as an integral member of the perioperative team and advocate for patients undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation. O ne year of OR and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred . Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings . Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 of employment or documentation of current BLS certification. Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
