POSITION SUMMARY: To provide occupational and environmental health nursing services to employees and prospective employees in a variety of age groups by performing varied occupational health services and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. To bear the primary responsibility and accountability for the occupational and environmental health nursing services that employees receive in the Employee Health Department. SCHEDULE: 8:00am-4:30pm EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree in a healthcare related field. Evidence of continuing professional education. EXPERIENCE: Five years experience as a medical/surgical nurse, a portion of which should be in the outpatient setting. Experience in occupational health preferred. Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and Email. SPECIAL SKILLS: Physical and cognitive requirements: Position’s physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as Very Heavy Work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH0 guidelines, which recommends that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance, will be followed. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also required as is constant talking and listening in English. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity, understanding the information relayed, deductive and inductive reasoning skills (the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense and the ability to combine pieces of information to/from general rules or conclusion respectively). Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing and photocopying required. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing needs of patients with acute, chronic and complex and/or terminal disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively within health system, multidisciplinary team members (i.e. MD’s, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory, etc). Ability to utilize effective time management skills to set priorities to perform responsibilities, problem solve and deliver care. Current Occupational Health Nurse Certification or OHNC Certification within 2 years of hire into the position. CPR (BCLS) Certification with AED Certification, Venipuncture. Strong knowledge of the principles, practices, rules, requirements of Infection Control, Health & Wellness, Case Management, Medical Surveillance. SIGN ON BONUS Position Summary The Clinical Trials Supervisor provides administrative and operational leadership for assigned research units within The Valley Hospital (TVH), including but not limited to Cardiology, Oncology, and Neuroscience. Ensures a continuum of quality patient care throughout hospitalization and oversees provisions for patient's discharge. Job Responsibility Facilitates patient management throughout hospitalization. Performs concurrent utilization management using evidence based medical necessity criteria. Submits data to management regarding case management and/or quality initiatives. Serves as an in-patient liaison - planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating patient in collaboration with the health care team. Conducts chart review for appropriateness of admission and continued length of stay; Facilitates throughput. Conducts clinical reviews and interacts with third party payers to obtain approval of hospital days, pre-certification and post-discharge eligibility in relation to clinical course. Ensures compliance with current state, federal, and third party payer regulations. Documents the case management process in the medical record; completes and documents a care coordination assessment on the patient. Serves as a liaison to patient, family, admitting, primary care physician, health care team, and hospital departments. Completes applicable areas of the patients discharge instruction sheet and the patient transfer sheet; ensures case management documentation is current and accurate.
