Recommends changes in the resident's Care Plan and goals based on observations and assessments. Reviews residents closet door care plan, informs nurse of any changes in patient condition. SAFETY AND SANITATION: Operates all equipment in a safe manner after receiving inservice on how to use equipment. Reports defective equipment to Unit Director/Charge Nurse immediately, labels same and informs Unit Clerk to order repair request. Is responsible for cleaning resident equipment such as commode chairs, wheelchairs, shower chairs, and geri-chairs. Follows policies and procedures related to Standard Precautions. Keeps resident's rooms, dresser drawers, closet, utility rooms, shower/tub rooms and corridors neat and in order. Follows New York State Requirements for PPD testing. Follows emergency protocols related to Fire/Disaster procedures. STAFF DEVELOPMENT: Attends continuing educational programs designed to enhance knowledge of the care of residents requiring Skilled Nursing as well as meet nurse aide certification requirements. Participates in DNV and OSHA mandated inservices annually. Promotes and fosters the mission and philosophy of the Facility during performance of job duties and community activities.
