How you make a difference The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides a full range of psychiatric services to incarcerated patients in accordance with state scope of practice, collaborative protocols, and established policies. This role delivers direct psychiatric care while also providing clinical consultation to mental health and healthcare staff. The position works within state guidelines to support consistent, high-quality psychiatric services across the facility. Clinical consultation and supervision are sought as required under applicable collaborative practice requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care while exercising independent medical judgment. Monitor and manage psychotropic medications, including effectiveness, side effects, and required follow-up. Collaborate with mental health, medical, and administrative teams to ensure consistent psychiatric and mental health services. Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in required meetings, consultations, and on-call coverage.
