The unit offers 24/7 provider coverage, with NICU staff attending all high-risk deliveries to ensure immediate assessment and stabilization. Infants requiring cardiac interventions or urgent surgical care are promptly transferred to a higher level of specialty care. This collaborative, family-centered unit brings together nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment dedicated to supporting the unique needs of newborns and their families. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of NICU experience and be comfortable caring for neonatal patients requiring specialized observation and support. Our patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we do cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. However, because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnosis include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation. Our staff is very passionate about caring for children and teens with behavioral health needs. We have a diverse group of nurses with backgrounds in Adult and Pediatric Nursing, Behavioral Health, and Med/Surg nursing, to name a few. We are all CPI trained and certified. We have championed the Disruptive Patient Star Program at LCH to address the safety issues related to this population. In addition to the nursing staff on 3K, we have psychiatric technicians to help care for our behavioral health population. Join our team of Hepatologists, GI/liver fellow, APPs, in house transplant coordinators, transplant pharmacist, social worker and dietician working together to provide team focused patient care What you’ll do: Manage patients with cirrhosis and the associated complications, as well as management of patients undergoing liver transplant evaluation and post-transplant patients admitted to the hospital Consultations, daily rounds, progress notes, H&Ps, discharges, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, provide patient/family education and counseling for patients with chronic liver disease/cirrhosis. Who you are: Experienced APP with 2 years of either Gastroenterology experience, Hepatology/transplant, hospitalist medicine, internal medicine experience preferred New grads considered if completing an APP fellowship, such as hospitalist medicine, ICU medicine or critical care Physician Assistant – Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification needed based upon population and acuity served . APP who can demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills. APP who can prioritize and make proactive decisions.
