Job Summary Reports directly to unit manager but works collaboratively with the department of anesthesia, this role is expected to gather appropriate patient information, including but not limited to: tests, labs, consults, etc. They are to ensure these results are within acceptable range parameters and, if not, collaborate with the appropriate physicians to rectify the areas of concern so surgery is not cancelled. In conjunction with support staff, they are responsible to assemble the patient chart for the surgical procedure, ensuring completion of all ordered test, and to instruct the patient on fasting times, medications to be taken/held, and answer any questions the patient may have about the procedure/process. The attire will be business casual with a lab coat.
