Position Summary The Inpatient Gastroenterology Consult Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an integral member of a busy inpatient gastroenterology consult service caring for children with a wide range of gastrointestinal, nutritional, feeding, and enteral access needs. Working closely with GI faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, nurses, dietitians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, the NP evaluates and manages hospitalized patients across Boston Children’s Hospital. The hematologic malignancies and solid tumor oncology APP provides comprehensive ambulatory care to one or more disease specific medical oncology patient populations depending on location of care within our academic or network practices. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider promotes a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. The APP is responsible for the assessment and management of medical oncology patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and development and implementation of appropriate plans of care across the trajectory of illness for patients with hematologic malignancies and/or solid tumor malignancies. In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the medical oncology APP serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. The medical oncology APP will provide thorough, compassionate, culturally sensitive clinical care and should demonstrate operational flexibility and strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills in order to work effectively with other members of the team. The NP/PA is responsible for: • Performs and records the patient history and physical examination and discusses findings with the collaborating team. Location: 111 Orient Avenue Boston, Massachusetts, 02128 United States Shifts Available: Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional weekends or on-call coverage Position Overview: The LTC Unit Manager (RN) provides leadership and clinical oversight for a designated nursing unit, ensuring compliance with CMS regulations, Massachusetts DPH requirements, and facility policies. This role supervises nursing staff, coordinates resident care plans, and supports a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous quality improvement. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and evaluate RNs, LPNs, and CNAs assigned to the unit; oversee daily staffing and scheduling. Provide leadership during surveys, audits, and inspections; ensure CMS and DPH readiness. Promote teamwork, respect, and resident-centered care within the unit. Assess residents’ health, review physician orders, and monitor nursing interventions. Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and ensure timely documentation in the EMR (e.g., PCC). Oversee infection control practices and adherence to standard precautions. Implement QAPI initiatives and monitor key quality indicators (falls, pressure injuries, infection rates). Ensure accurate completion of MDS assessments and care plan meetings in collaboration with MDS coordinator. Provide in-service training, competency checks, and mentoring to nursing staff. Serve as primary contact for families, physicians, and ancillary providers regarding resident care. Participate in daily management meetings and contribute to emergency preparedness planning. Qualifications: Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum 2–3 years clinical experience in long-term care or subacute rehabilitation; prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred. Familiarity with CMS regulations, MDS process, and DPH survey standards. Strong leadership, delegation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records. Physical & Working Conditions: Ability to stand, walk, and move intermittently during shifts.
