Position Title: Hospice Support Caregiver – Non-Medical Date: September 19, 2025 Reports to: Owner EEO Code: Position Overview The Hospice Support Caregiver – Non-Medical provides compassionate, non-medical assistance to clients and their families during end-of-life care. The focus of this role is to enhance comfort, maintain dignity, and provide emotional and practical support while following the hospice care plan. Caregivers in this role ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment while respecting the unique needs and wishes of each client and family. Essential Functions Provide comfort and companionship to clients in hospice care. Offer non-medical support such as assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and repositioning. Help maintain a safe and peaceful environment, including light housekeeping, laundry, and meal/snack preparation when appropriate. Follow the hospice care plan and report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition. Maintain strict confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and company policies. Document daily care activities and communicate with other caregivers to ensure continuity of care. Respect the client’s dignity, cultural beliefs, and end-of-life wishes at all times. Skills/Qualifications Strong compassion and empathy in supporting clients and families during sensitive times. Ability to provide gentle personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.
